 "FAST AND EASY!!!" 2010-01-14

"Left this outside for a month..." 2010-01-08
By Jamie Call
I bought this a couple months ago and I really really liked it. Then one day it went missing. I was so sad. This morning, I was outside and I found it laying on top of my BBQ, where it has been for at least the last month in the snow and temperatures very infrequently above freezing. I hesitantly turned it on. It worked. It works as well as it has ever worked, which is awesome. The battery lasts forever, the sound quality is really good for the price, and it is SO durable. If your mp3 players are prone to mishaps buy this and also a little case for it and you will be in super shape.

"I love this little thing!" 2010-01-07
By Joseph J. Cassiba (Phoenix, Arizona)
This is a great little MP3 player. My wife bought me one for Christmas two years ago. Unfortunately my kids broke it. I liked it so much that I bought another one. My favorite feature is it's small size and the fact it comes with a clip. I can clip it almost anywhere and it stays in place during exercising or doing projects around the house. Despite its small size, it still has many features and good sound. I highy recommend this product.

Was purchased the SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 to help make CD to MP3 transfer and function navigation easier than the generic MP3 player we had. Its much better in both respects.

Fast shipping. My 14 yr. old son seems to have no complaints. He was able to figure out how to use it on his own, and really seems to like it.

 "Love it! Love it!" 2009-12-29
By A. Cooper (St. Louis,Mo.)
I bought these as a christmas present for my daughters age 11 and 14. They absolutely love them. The sound quality is good and I've even thought about buying myself one. These were the best gifts ever. Now they use them when doing chores and actually do a better job when they have the mp3 player. The things kids will do to have what they want.

"Not an iPod but much more Affordable" 2009-12-06
By Charles Evans (North Carolina)
The key to the Colby player is to manage your expectations. The player will play music, pictures, and movies - but it is a far cry from an iPod Nano. The player holds 2GB of data and does have decent audio playback.

Things to consider

+Can be used to store photos - Who needs a keychain that can hold 2 or 3 pictures when the Colby can hold thousands!

+ Small size - very portable

+ Nice features - will play videos!

+ 2GB means that you can hold thousands of music files

+ Software makes it easy to rip cds to the Colby - you can choose individual songs or the entire cd

+ Great price - I mean a really great price!

Areas for improvement

- The FM radio only seemed to pick-up one station

- As expected - it is completely incompatible with iTunes. Meaning if you have a large iTunes library you will have limited luck transfering those files over to your Colby.

- Flimsy - I wonder about long-term reliability

- Playlist system is lacking - I mainly sort using Genres

- Toggling between menus is not that intuitive (in my opinion)

Final verdict - yes, there are some drawbacks - these drawbacks would be huge if the Colby player was priced the same as other media players. It is not, and your expectations should be guarded. The device will hold and play 2Gb of media and offers a display for the cost of a standard 16GB FLASH DRIVE! It is a nice cheap alternative for those who really just need a way to store and show a few pictures or wants a cheap media player for the gym.

5 Stars (graded on a curve due to the price)

 "Watch out" 2009-11-29
By J. Krenzelok
I bought this thing to replace a Creative Zen Stone I lost. It's ok so far, but don't believe what the package claims it can do. It's a good buy for an mp3 player, but I have not been able to get any video or e-books to work, using multiple formats for each, and reencoding video to .mtv format (which is not very easy to find.)

If you want this thing, the price is right, but it's just an mp3 player. Look at it that way, and you won't be too disappointed.

I purchased this item for an underpriveleged child through a church program. I felt that it had all the features that were needed for the price. I cannot attest to how it works since I will not have any knowledge of that because of the secrecy of the program.

By Richard Alan Partain Sr. (Georgia)
We got these on Black Friday to be able to get a great deal and at 16.99 a piece for the MP3 Players with FM Radio was well worth the deal. Sure we could have opted to get the 4g one at WalMArt for 26 but it did not come with the FM Radio that we also wanted to be able to utilize. The sound is awesome and its a great little MP3 Player for us all to use with ease. Shipping was quick Product was packaged and new and all in all a great transaction overall

 "Zune HD Compatible" 2010-01-07
By Michael Seliga
I've had a Zune HD for a few months and unlike previous Zune's, it is a real pain to change the song your on while driving. This puts it at a nice height and all I have to do is swipe. I use the aux jack on my head unit and this let me patch it right in. My only gripe is I wish the included charging cable was longer, since its hard to navigate the Zune's menu's if it's not in hand. But you can just use your sync cables.

"Did not work at all with Zune 120" 2009-12-14
By EthericOne
With the 4-star reviews, I ordered this thinking it would work well to allow us to play our new Zune 120 in the car, but it did not work. Plugged it all in as the directions instruct, found a FM channel that was not in use (which is not easy in the large metropolis we live in, but we did find one), hit the Zune play button and nothing. Thankfully, Accessory Genie seems to have a 30 day return policy, so we are sending it back.

So far the product has been really good but I have not travelled much with it so don't know how it will do with different station settings. The price is certainly right and I would reccomend it.

 "Works fine" 2009-11-08
By T. R. Clark (Dallas, TX USA)
It charges, comes with two USB cables (one for Zune and one mini-USB for charging other items like a GPS), and has a radio transmitter. Thus far, all the functionalities work just fine. My only complaint is that the arm could be a little sturdier- but it's just as durable as the majority of other items like this. Radio transmitter works great, best I've had so far. My only WISH is that this thing came with a remote, like some of the items for ipod do..but can't have everything I suppose :).

 "Nice Fit" 2009-11-06
By Alexander Lokshin (Los Angeles)
After using this Transmitter for the first couple of days, I have definitely noticed a difference in quality between the previous unit I owned.

The Zune fits pretty snugg in the transmitter, and the sound is good as well.

I also like the usb cable that came with the unit, saved my blackberry from dying a few times.

 "Good item" 2010-01-07
By newman (Texas)
I gave this to my wife. She really likes how handy it is. She now takes her iphone on walks, playing her music or podcasts through earphones, and covering the belt and phone with her jumper so the phone isn't displayed to potential thieves. She has to remove it from the belt if she gets a phone call or to change the audio selection, but that's no big deal.

"Small quirks but works great" 2009-12-22
By N. Christi (California)
I wanted to find a sports band for my iphone I could use with its case and was annoyed with all of the arm bands on the market. This one fits my iphone with the case easily and fit snuggly around my waist but the pocket pictured for your keys is located in the inside of the band, which presses into my skin. Also, it is difficult to use the touch screen through the plastic on the outside of the belt, especially when you realize that you are looking at it from the side when you have it on. Minor problems that I've worked around. I would buy it again.

 "Cool and handy" 2009-11-25
By Siddhartha Valicharla (Milwaukee, WI, USA)
Ok price wise exhorbhitant ... but a good product.

Sits on the waist & I don't feel teh iPhone in it.

Wish there was some way to stick the ends after adjusting so the things don't flap or poke thru T-Shirt.

"It does exactly what it's supposed to" 2009-03-06
By DK (Iowa City, IA)
The thing works way exactly as described. I think it could be modernized by having a larger screen and support for video, but overall I am happy with the performance of this player. My only complaint is the software that comes with it does not burn cd's very well.

 "perfect for traveling " 2008-02-15
By V. Massey (maui, HI)
I am a massage/physical therapist; I work with people in their homes.

I use music during the sessions and was tired of lugging around a boombox and cds.

I was looking to get an ipod and speaker dock/attachment but it turned out that to get the quality of sound I wanted, I would end up with a player that is the same size as a boombox.

While searching, I came across the K5 with built in speakers and decided to get it.

I am very pleased! Tiny & light, great sound, easy to use, good quality construction and the Samsung software is designed much better than itunes.

I got a fm trasmitter and use the K5 listen to books on my car stereo while driving. Again great sound and ease of use.

 "The spakers are great" 2008-01-01
By C. Long (USA)
I just received this MP3 player for Christmas and really like it. Being a little older, I am not engrossed with my music as when I was younger. I find myself not using the headphones that much. All of the functions work well and the preveous reviews cover these items very well. The headphones are the antenna for the FM radio so leaving these plugged in when listening to the speakers is not a big deal.

The sound with the headphones are great and the speakers are very acceptable knowing that they can not produce the sound (especially bass) of a boom box. I have used the speakers at work (on low), and at a party and working around the house. They work great for this and I enjoy them a lot. If you won't use the speakers, then there are other models with the same or more features for less money, but I really do like the speakers. My friends and co workers are impressed.

 "A Great "Little" K5" 2007-11-12
By
I love the K5. I know "little" is a relative term and as far as other MP3 players go it may not be the slimmest or lightest but I think that if you can live without video, for what you do get and the versatility it is overall the best in this price range! Very easy, user-friendly interface, I am not a computer or gadget whiz but I had this machine up and running with music and pictures in less than 1/2 hour. The controls are so easy the user manual is almost not needed at all. The speakers are great for a player this small and they let you still enjoy the player without being "hooked up"; the sound through the headphones is very good too! And as far as I am concerned an FM radio is always necessary. A big added plus is the alarm, this thing is great to travel with. Picture quality is not the best but definately adequate and the only thing I could ask for is time display. However, for what you do get and great battery life, you cannot go wrong. Highly recommended.

 "nice piece of techonology" 2009-12-13
By Jonathan Charnes
I bought the p2 and had a lot of play time with it. The videos are nice to view. The music quality is great. You can make calls through it. The only thing I didn't like is the emodio software that comes with it. but it is not necessary to use. It made trouble with datacasts don't work on vista x64 and they aren't even that good. It also might cause installation trouble. I would however reccomend installing it, so it can update your firmware, and you can download themes with it. You can also listen to radio and a whole bunch of other stuff that you can find on any review. If you are looking for an mp3/mp4 player buy this. By the way .svi is basically .avi just convert your video with any converter and use the 480x272 resolution and your good to go.

 "THE BEST I'VE HAD" 2009-11-30
By O. Pacyga (Middle Earth)
This is, by far, is the best mp3 I have. I had Sony, an older model of Samsung, and just bought Sansa Fuze.

For me, this Samsung P2 has the best sound quality. I use it at the gym most of the time. The touch screen makes it easy to scroll and find the songs/playlist I want to hear. I can say this because I brought my Sansa Fuze to the gym and it was annoying trying to find the playlists, or certain songs.

I listen to P2 with my JVC earbud headphone HA-FX66. This is the best combination.

FYI: the reason I bought Sansa Fuze was because I accidentaly left my P2 in my jacket and washed it. It was there for one whole cycle. When taking clothes out from washer, my heart almost fell when I saw my P2 and my earphones. I thought they all broke but my curiousity saved me. I hooked it up back to computer and guess what..... the usual P2 logo came on right away, everything is working, my songs, all the pictures are still there...the sound is still great!! Unbelievable.

 "Almost perfect." 2009-11-14
By Ann Huf
I bought this mp3 player as a replacement. I had bought the same exact kind at a Wal-Mart about a year and a half ago but it was stolen out of my car. When I searched for it on Amazon, I was ecstatic when I saw the low price I could pay for a refurbished version of what I had before. One flaw is that the screen is not securely attached to the base so it is possible that it could pop off. However, this has only happened once and I've been using it pretty much every day. Other than that, I am very satisfied.

 "Good" 2009-09-02
By K (Somewhere)
I got this MP3 Player before my iPod Touch 2nd Gen. This actually is a really good MP3. Although sometimes the touch response is off by couple of seconds. But it has one of the best sound quality because it has DNSE which comes with many Samsung MP3's, also it has a built in FM radio, its Bluetooth Capable, also you can choose to play the song at a speed you want to play it at. So you can choose to extremely fast or really slow.

"Touch controls break very easily" 2009-12-15
By B. McKenna
I had this product for 6 months. After keeping it in my purse for 2 days, the touch controls stopped responding to any input. When you turn it on the volume goes up to max, and you can't turn it down, or even turn the device off. This product had great reviews in PCMag, but I was disappointed in its durability. I will get an Mp3 player with real buttons next time.

"Didn't work out of the box" 2009-08-13
By Greg in Austin
This Samsung YP-U3JQL never would start out of the box. Plugged it in the computer and it would show charging at first and transferring files. But when tried to start, nothing. Called Samsung and they had me try a few things unsuccessfully and then said I would have to pay to ship it in for repairs which was probably a defective battery. Guess this is my last buy of a Samsung product.

 "2 1/2 Stars...To many drawbacks make this a mediocre player" 2009-06-29
By T. Gore (Neu Joisy)
The Samsung YP-U3LQL is a pretty decent MP3 player. Its durable, had great sound, but....it has a couple main drawbacks that make really kill it, and those drawbacks could have been easily fixed by just making it a bit bigger. First off, if you are going to use this for working out. Dont Bother! Unless you just turn on the player, and dont plan on touching it at all when you are working out. The touchpad is so small, that if you are moving, you will hit the wrong button, and usually it dumps you to the main menu. Now, this would be OK, but sometimes you just want to adjust the volume (you know if you have a mix that sometimes volume changes, and you need to adjust) you need to fumble through the menu and hit the button at least four times to go back to now playing. That is the only way you can adjust the volume. A seperate volume control would have been nice. I cant tell you how many times I had to slow down on the treadmill to futz with the thing to get it back to "now playing" The same thing happens when you want to skip over a song, it goes to the menu and you have to fumble around with the thing. Believe me, no matter how steady you hand is, since you are moving when working out, the touch pad is just awful. Another horrid feature is how complicated it is to adjust the EQ. It wont allow you to listen to your adjustments as you are making them. You have to guess, then save, then see if you like how you adjusted it. Then once again, you better be dead on to hit the button to save, or all your adjustments are lost. The third and worse feature it sometimes this player freezes for a minute, or runs very slow when trying to go through songs. Not good when you are working out, and then everything jams up, and you are forced to once again slow down. Hey, the sound is good here, its a durable, but I rather pay 20 or 25 dollars less to get the Sansa clip. (which I did) It has all the same features minus two. No 3D effect EQ, and its only 1G, but if you are only using this for on the go or workouts, 1G is plenty. I mean this isnt meant to be used for major storage of your music. It can only be charged by USB, had no AUX input, so its not like you are going to be plugging it into your car or home stereo

All I needed in an MP3 player. Have dropped it a million times on treadmills, ellipticals, and the like and it still works like a charm.

We ordered this for our daughter. It works well- no problems. We did not install the included software- we just used Media Player- it syncs up w/ no trouble. Our 11 year old daughter finds it easy to use- and loves the pink color. All in all, a great buy- for the money.
